It’s that time again! Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite energy drink, kick back and enjoy yet another CrackBerry.com pre-release BlackBerry Smartphone review. This time around we’re looking at an officially-received BlackBerry Storm2.

The Calm Before the Second Storm

The BlackBerry Storm2. To say it has been highly anticipated would be an understatement. Before the original BlackBerry Storm was available to customers, the first rumors of the Storm 2 began to surface. Research in Motion even acknowledged the existence of the new device much earlier than they historically would, when RIM’s co-CEO Jim Balsillie said in a presentation to analysts and investors (reported by Reuters) in May 2009 that they were working on a next generation of its BlackBerry Storm as part of a continuing push into the retail market. From that point, it was less than two weeks later when the first photos of the new BlackBerry Storm were posted to the internet right here at CrackBerry.com which was followed up soon after when we brought you the first video of the BlackBerry Storm 2 in action. In the weeks following and leading up to the Storm2′s “official” announcement, youtube has been full of “unofficial” BlackBerry Storm2 9550 and 9520 previews (Verizon’s Storm2 is the 9550; Vodafone’s is the 9520) showing off early-stage hardware and firmware. Due to this unofficial nature, most early Storm2 videos/photos disappeared from the web as quickly as they appeared, but now that we have an official review unit you can rest assured knowing Storm2 content is now here to stay.

From the outside, the Hero blends elements of both the device that have gone before it; the smartphone is size-wise more in line with the Magic, but with some of the angular style of the original HTC Dream (aka the T-Mobile G1). It’s a thin handset, measuring 112 x 56.2 x 14.35 mm, and feels even thinner thanks to the sharp beveling of the edges. Our review unit is white, but depending on carrier there will be charcoal and black versions of the Hero, each with the subtle brushed-metal display surround. It’s a distinctive design, but not unduly dramatic, and while we’ve heard complaint about HTC’s persistence with the angled “chin” section this does make holding the phone and using the buttons and trackball more straightforward.

Up top there’s a welcome addition to an HTC Android device, in the shape of a 3.5mm headphones socket, while on the base there’s the company’s own ExtUSB port (which is compatible with standard mini-USB). On the left-hand side there are surprisingly large volume controls, while on the back there’s the 5-megapixel autofocus camera (which still lacks a flash of any sort). There’s no dedicated camera button, either.

Up front, there’s a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen running at 320 x 480 HVGA resolution, sitting above the usual six Android buttons: call, home, menu, call-end, search and back. The trackball from the Dream and Magic is also present, and it lights up when you receive an SMS or phone call. Above the display is the long, narrow speaker-grill, flanked on the left by an ambient light sensor and on the right by a two-color LED that flashes green to let you know a message has come in, and red when charging. The whole handset is covered in Teflon, which HTC say will better resist scratches, fading and staining; its matte finish is a tactile and aesthetically welcome departure from glossy devices.

Samsung moment android. On the opening day of CTIA Fall 2009, Samsung and Sprint started things off with a bang by announcing the Samsung Moment, the second Google Android phone to be released for both companies in the United States. The Moment will be available starting November 1 for $179.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate, but customers can preregister for the smartphone starting today at Sprint’s Web site.

Unlike the Samsung Behold II, which will be available from T-Mobile on November 2 for $199.99 with contract, the Moment features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard in addition to the 3.2-inch AMOLED touch screen, which has a proximity sensor and accelerometer. The smartphone is powered by an 800MHz processor and is stocked with all the necessary wireless options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and support for Sprint’s EV-DO Rev. A network.

Like the carrier’s other Android device, the HTC Hero, the Samsung Moment offers access to various Sprint services, such as Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV, NFL Mobile Live and, of course, you can download more apps and widgets through the Android Market. The handset also has a 3.2-megapixel camera, a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, Visual voice mail support, and up to 32GB expandable memory.

In addition to the Samsung Behold II and the Samsung Moment, Verizon Wireless and Google announced a partnership to bring two Android devices by the end of the year–rumored to be the Motorola Sholes and another version of the HTC Hero.

If you’re already using an unlocked phone on a non-standard carrier, the folks at iClarified recommend updating your existing jailbreak rather than try to jump in with Blackra1n. That said, if you’ve been itching to see what’s new in the unofficial iPhone app world and have access to a Windows system, Blackra1n seems like a fairly simple and quick jailbreak method.

We haven’t been able to test out the jailbreak on an iPhone, but it seemed to work well enough on a first-gen iPod touch. As the developers note, however, if you let the battery run out on your iPod touch or perform a “hard” reboot, you’ll have to boot your iPod while connected to iTunes the next time.

Nah untuk mengakali hal tersebut, kebetulan di perangkat BlackBerry sudah memiliki solusi. Fitur ini bernama ‘Password Keeper’, dan dijamin berguna bagi user yang memiliki banyak account dan password berbeda-beda di setiap account-nya.

Penggunaan ‘Password Keeper’ sendiri cukup sederhana, sehingga mungkin sudah bukan hal ‘asing’ di beberapa kalangan pengguna BlackBerry. Namun tidak ada salahnya juga toh jika kita berbagi bagi mereka yang belum tahu.

Simak cara menggunakannya:

1. Masuk ke halaman ‘application’ dan pilih ikon ‘password keeper’.
2. Ketik password dan ketik ulang kembali paswordnya untuk membuka aplikasi password keeper.
3. Pada halaman password keeper yang masih kosong, tekan menu , lalu pilih New.
4. Di halaman new password, tulis judul (title), username, password, website & note.
5. Tekan menu, lalu pilih save. Daftar catatan password akan muncul dihalaman password keeper.
6. Ulangi hal tersebut jika ingin memasukkan data berikutnya.

Mudah kan? Kini Anda tak lagi perlu dipusingkan ketika lupa password dan username salah satu account Anda. Selamat mencoba.

• Klik my account (ujung kiri atas)
• Klik my blog
• Di blog kita, kolom paling kanan, buat ‘enable’ post by emailnya
• Simpan alamat email yang diberikan ke dalam BlackBerry

Contact, itu alamat yang akan kita pakai untuk mengirim artikel kita ke Blog. Selesai sudah setting Blog kita agar bisa kita update dengan mudah setiap saat.

Setelah langkah di atas sudah dilakuakan, kita bisa mulai mencobanya. Buat artikel atau copy paste artikel lalu kirim ke alamat email yang kita simpan di atas. Dalam beberapa menit maka akan terkirim notifikasi melalui email bahwa artikel kita sudah masuk ke dalam Blog.
